News 21 is a Carnegie-Knight funded project designed to advance the U.S. news business by helping top research universities train the next generation of journalists. The unique program allows students to travel the country to report on critical issues facing our changing nation and find innovative ways to tell those stories. I have worked for two years as a video and design coach on the project. The students work extremely hard and generate amazing, creative, investigative journalism pieces.

Powering a Nation is the project that the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Journalism and Mass Communication has contributed to the News 21 initiative during the summers of 2009 and 2010. The work is collaborative and exceptional.
